Japan gleefully absorbed our culture for decades, and look what the fuck it did to them: supposed adult men reading cartoon porn on the subway, common groping problems, terrified of women and thus, the worst population growth problem in the world, massive suicide problems, used panty vending machines (now outlawed, supposedly?), cartoons are considered "fine cinema" ffs, etc....
