OK, I guess we/I need to clarify a few things here.

Have any of you ever heard of "Guilty by Ommission?"

When something is ILLEGAL and YOU choose to do NOTHING about it. (Report it, attempt to stop it, etc) You can be considered legally culpable due to your NEGLECT in doing anything about it. I.E. Guilty by Ommission.

I'm not getting into semantics about "which drug makes people more evil/stupid/horny/dumb/aggressive/passive/likely to vote for Kerry.

The two main drugs in this conversation are alcohol and marijuana. One of them is legal as of 1 August 2004. The other one is illegal as of the same date. Period.

One of them is socially acceptable in the real world; not the "Stoner Berkeley Free Willy Save the Whales, Trees, Tires and Leftovers Gay Rights Activist" world.

Having one in your system is irrelevant. Having the other will get you NOT HIRED.

I do believe I've made my point.

Hey pliabemoose I think I found someone even holier than you .Me.

You're talking to a guy who did 125 one hits from a bong in one night.

I also grew up & quit before something bad like an arrest & a prison sentence made me quit.

It doesen't matter, Michael. You can agree with {them} all you want, but it still doesen't rationalize cannabis actually being against the law. That is the issue here.

I do not want to and will never work at a place that takes what I do on my own time into consideration with reguards to the "Hire him?" equation.

Gah. Drugs, drugs, drugs. I know you drink alcohol, don't give me that. Just because you don't agree with the stereotypical pot smokers ideology isn't reason enough for you to talk down about it like you do. The people would believe the same things even if they didn't get to smoke their hippi lettuce.

Wife beaters would still be wife beaters if they didn't have their alcohol. Maybe just less. So what's the fscking point?

It isn't the drugs fault, it's peoples fault. Until we address the underlying issues that cause people to use drugs(and that will never happen), people will always use drugs. Period.

You can drink your alcohol or smoke your cigarettes in the peace of your own home, yet when we smoke our drug of choice.. it's demonized.

Horsesh!t. That's called brainwashing, my friend.

If you don't like the laws that apply to controlled substances in this country, then it's your job to a) work to change them, or b) face the consequences when you're caught with them in your possession or in your system.

I have no problem with pot smokers. Just don't say, "But it's less dangerous than alcohol! This is bullsh!t!" when you're caught with it. It's illegal and you broke the law. Don't like the law? Work to change it. I believe it'll eventually be legalized. Until then, all the talk in the world won't do anything but justify your reasons for smoking or condoning the smoking of marijuana.

Weird, another thread turning into an argument over drugs. Why don't you just STFU and stay out of the thread if you're going to start arguments?

I don't think Eli said anything like that. He knows it is illegal.

Absolutely! I agree and understand this.. until your last sentence.

But wait a minute... It has to start somewhere, right? If I were just "hush hush" about it, nobody said anything, etc.... then nothing would ever get done along the lines of the first part of your post, correct?

If people talk "bad" about marijauana, then I can certainly talk "good" about it, especially since most if not all of the "bad" is hypocritical horsesh!t that has emerged due to government propaganda. :)

Anyway.. my point is that it has to start somewhere.

Is that what our government would like us to be? Sheep that say "Well, it's against the law.. so I guess I have to follow the law."?

The beauty of our country is that we don't have to do that.

Someday you'll all find out that these days, urine and blood tests are required to get a job doing something other than delivering pizzas and working at Best Buy. Good luck to you all.

funny...those are usually the types of jobs that do drug test.

MichaelD seems to just be mad at anyone who isn't over 23 and doesn't have a depressing existance such as his. Your post looks like it was concocted by the same mouth breathers who invented D.A.R.E. and currently run tripe like freevibe.com

You can believe what you want, but you don't have to act like your opinion is law. (btw, do all pot smokers support gay rights? )

Hmm, I think someone hijacked MichaelD's account. He went from always talking about how girls have done him wrong to talking about gays, drugs, and guns.
