Anyone want to try this on an LCD. Maybe it'll leak the liquid crystal .... or create a time machine.

Can't work with LCD. The reason it might work with a CRT is because the gun is blasting electrons at the screen, and if those frequencies DO match up, you can generate AM since it's Amplitude Modulation. It's just matter of varying the signal.

Of course you could A.) burn out your monitor or B.) give yourself cancer :p

Now just another thought....does this mean someone could sit outside my house using some kind of highly tuned frequency monitor, convert the noise to images and see what I am looking at on my monitor?

paranoia ++

I've heard that something similar to this is possible.

I remember that when there were talks about putting Clinton on 'tele-trial', they wanted to make sure that the monitor used had a protective shielding.

I'll see if I can dig up a link.

Yes. With the right equipment it is possible to view what someone is viewing on their monitor.

Umm are you sure it's a Linux program.. I've unpacked java files for my windows pc that were .gz files.
Winzip will open up .gz files too I believe.

Or you may need the actual extractors, it's been awhile since I've unpacked my .tar and .gz files
