KFC has the cole slaw, best stuff on earth. They automatically win.
This is true. Give me KFC cole slaw, Popeye's fries, KFC or Popeye's mash potatoes, and Bojangles' biscuit. Fried chicken is secondary. You can give me pretty much any fried chicken and I'll be happy as long as I have these sides.

not even close.

That dixie style stuff is nasty. Give me the good ol' oil & vinegar coleslaw any day. That is the good stuff.

Only ever had KFC since I've never seen or been to the other two so can't really comment on the other two, but my church usually has pretty good food. :p

They changed it recently though, it's not as good as it used to be. The Macaroni salad is meh as well now. Come to think of it I don't go there very often anymore. The chickens they use are so genetically modified that it probably hardly qualifies as chicken. It's still good but I find it's not as good as it used to be. The double down is something else though, omg that thing is epic. If I go, it's probably for that.

I can't take any food advice from Canadians seriously. What do you guys know about fried chicken and stuff like cole slaw? There's like gazillion chicken places in Georgia. One thing we know is fried food and chicken. KFC has good slaw. That's a fact.

KFC's cole slaw is so bad it's a joke. It's so watery and I'll never buy it.

This is America. Who gives a sh*t about Taiwanese pickled cabbage? No one outside of Taiwan cares about that sh*t. If that stuff was any good, we would all know about it.

I miss the old KFC cole slaw that one was actually good. In fact I have yet to try a coleslaw that I actually like. Ex: stuff from the deli counter at the grocery store, or whatever other places that you can buy it at. Who knows what was in the KFC one though. That's probably why it was so good lol.

They are all gross...

KFC like 90% of them are all dirty as hell.
The chicken bucket is like a tub of lard, has oil all over the place.
The franchise is really in the hole. Its definitely not the KFC i used to goto when i was little.

Popeye, gimme cruelly treated chicken meat please!
They had this whole issue with the chicken farms, and other stuff.

Churches, never ate there... so i wouldnt know... but i still wouldn't eat that.

If i had to get fried chicken..

1. Gus's world famous fried chicken.
2. Rossco Chicken and Wafffles
3. Ralphs' Deli.

If its not fried, then fit el pollo loco in somewhere on that list.

Cole slaw could be Chinese and it wouldn't make a difference. They serve cole slaw everywhere in the South. All the chicken places, BBQ joints, seafood restaurants. Everyone knows cole slaw. Where can you find Taiwanese pickled cabbage? Who even heard of Taiwanese pickled cabbage? No one outside Taiwan cares. It can't be all that great if no one outside Taiwan knows about it.

This more has to do with cultural diversity in your area.

If you said this to highly pop asian city like Koreatown / ChinaTown / Diamond bar / fullerton / San Jose / in California, it would go the other way around with people saying what is cole slaw... its all about the chinese pickled cabbage, korean kim-chi, Japanese pickled Vegetables.

Don't feel like reading through the thread.

Popeyes: Too damn expensive, but have the best tasting skin on its chicken.

- Actual chicken meat sucks
-You CANNOT microwave Popeyes chicken. Terrible. Stringy. Garbage if not consumed immediately.

KFC: More affordable.

-Skin can be greasy. Not healthy for me IMO
-Taste pretty good if you have to nuke it. I can eat KFC chicken a couple days after purchase.

I don't care about the sides. Just the chicken.

Churches is just hot [expletive]. No comment need.

Lol fried food never fares well when you try to microwave it. I prefer to eat left over fried chicken cold. Unless I toaster oven it.

coleslaw is in my genes due to being Ukrainian. Oil & vinegar is the only way to go.

Of course Popeyes then Churches, any part that is not the main body. Is KFC even chicken? Horrible, greasy stuff but their coleslaw is pretty good.

Best chicken I ever had came from remodeled gas station.

All of these places are individually run so there are good and bad, dirty and clean just like people.

Popeye's for sure. Best biscuits of the three too. They've been expanding around here which is awesome and, for some reason, they can't count when they put together their meals. We only eat there sparingly but when we do there is an 80% chance one of us will get 4+ pieces of chicken in the 3 piece boxes.

Popeye's biscuit is horrible. I eat it because it comes with family meal but it's only edible if you dip it in honey. Bojangles' has by far the best biscuit of fast food chicken places. It's not even close.

The best fast food biscuit I know is the Carl's Jr./Hardees Sausage biscuit.

Since people are bringing up good fried chicken other than fast food, here are a couple in the bay area:

http://www.brownsugarkitchen.com/

https://marlowesf.com/
Carl's Jr/Hardee's biscuit is good for fast food and way better than Popeye's and KFC biscuits. But it's still inferior to Bojangles' biscuit. Bojangles' has the best fast food biscuit. I challenge anyone to find me better fast food biscuit.
