keyword.URL Hack!

I added the string in Firefox and using the addon keyword.url hack! it worked. I did the same thing in Palemoon and it doesn't work.

Maybe try the Pale Moon forum. They should be better equipped to handle it, or may even want to put the old functionality back.

I use Opendns and have keywords that the search sting uses so it would be nice to have. When FF fianlly goes to the crap pile I will be switching over to Palemoon full time. Wish Palemoon didn't follow FF's BS on getting rid of the keyword.url search string. How dumb was that?!

I prefer the new functionality, but I'm against removing features, whether I use them or not. I'm fine with moving settings to about:config to make the menus cleaner, and easier for n00bs, but features should never be removed.

Yeah, with the new versions of FF you have to click and click some more to show the menu bar and all the stuff that was common for the older version. I hate to see what a noob browser looks like. I like me features where i can get at them and not have to reconfigure the browser every time I do a fresh install. I keep about:config bookmaked in the bookmarks toolbar and use it quit often.

It seems as if the add-on works for this user. http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3073&p=17359&hilit=keyword.url#p17359

That may be a good place to ask as well as asking the dev of the add-on.

Also, ESR is Extended Support Release. I have no idea if keyword.url is supported as I just learned about ESR myself. Download link is at the bottom of this page.

Off topic: I wish a dev would pick up or create a browser similar to k-meleon. http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/
