My car got keyed sometime this weekend (by the looks of it, this morning). It was keyed from passenger tailights to passenger headlights. My car is black, so the scratch is definitely noticeable. What would be the best way of removing it? I'm in Southern California, if anyone has any tips or places to go and get it done, I'd appreciate it.

If its very light, i would first try Meguiar's Soft scrub.

If that doesn't help, and it is still surface damage, try buffing your car.

Finally,

you can try touch up paint but if its big, it will have to berepainted.

good luck,

Wax and buff it. I forgot the brand... I'll get back to you on that. With some hard scrubbing and buffing, it'll take out small scratches. Also, open the driver door and look at hte number there. Go to a dealership *toyota if you ahve a camry, honda if you have a civic, etc...* and tell them the number. They'll sell you a bottle of touch up paint.

Thanks for the tips. I am thinking of getting it buffed, I think its my best bet. If I need touchup, I'll get it done.

that sucks. Do what dhruv suggested. The best alternative would be to be able to find the little jackass who did it and sue his parents, but that is probably unrealistic.

try a light polish. then try a grittier one. always go from light to heavy and then once it's gone go back to the lighter ones to polish it completely. if it didn't go all the way to the metal then you're ok. i like meguiars. good stuff. a little more expensive but they have more selection IMO.
