I have a Abit BX6 Rev 2 motherboard. It's been working fine for many months, but today the keyboard has stopped working.

I can press del to get into the bios and use it there, but once it boots, even if I use a dos boot disk, it doesn't respond.

Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what did you do to get it working again.

Regards,

Nigel

Hrmm.. I really don't know what to say, it looks like an OS problem, seeing as it works in the BIOS but with a bootdisk. Somehow checking what loads at the beginning it good way to see. Can you load Windows? Does it give you a lack of keyboard error?

Thanks for the help, I've solved the problem now. It was weird that even a plain dos boot disc didn't work.

In the end, it turned out to be the soundblaster card. I was in the process of installing Linux and I think it corrupted the pnp or something.
What I did was take out all the cards except the graphics card and rebooted. Keyboard worked.

I then replaced them all, but it stopped working, so I took them all out and replaced them one by one.
Having identified the 'faulty' card I put it into another slot, rebooted and things were fine, afterwards I could even return it to it's original slot.

Weird huh!
