Keyboard to joypad

I'm looking for a program that lets you map keys from the keyboard on a joypad so I can use the joypad instead of the keyboard in some games that only suports keyboard. And yes, I've looked on Google, but as I don't know what to search for specifically I don't get any usefull results.

Try looking at your Joypad manufacturer's website?
My Gravis GrIP gamepad program lets me remap any keys to any buttons. Most of the time, anyway.

I would if I could, you see, my favourite gamepad is a cheap noname psx-gamepad copy, so cheap that the firm that has made it apparently doesn't have a web-site. As for my other gamepad, a Creative Cobra USB, the software gave me many problems and was extremely unstable under Win98 so I stopped using it and don't want to try it under Win2000 as I won't risk losing the stability I've got now.

I tried the software for the Creative gamepad but it won't run under Win2000 at all so that's not a solution.

Isn't there anyone who knows such a program, I know you can do it with the software that comes with many joypads but aren't there any progs that aren't hardware specific?

Can't you do that within the game that you are trying to play? I seem to recall being able to do that in most games and emulators.

Yeah, you can in most but not all , I want to use my gamepad in a japanese game which use the keyboard, but the keys are placed very badly on a western keyboard layout; there's an external prog to change this but for some reason that doesn't work, hence my question for a stand-alone prog which can map the keyboard key to a joypad.
