Hey, they have a topic "sort of" like this at slashdot, about almost touch-free keyboards. Me and a prof at my college were throwin around this idea:
using light responsive diode's to make a keyboard. where they respong to changes in light. so... say you had a glass plate, and you just typed slightly over it... didn't have to actualy touch anything, cuz the diode's would react to the change in light... he showed me this big(shoe box sized) piece of equipment that did this sort of. what do you guys think? get them really sensitive and you could have multipule layers of keyboards so, say at 1 inch you had keyboard #1, at 2 inches away you had keyboard #2 and so on.... or does this just sound like a crack head idea?
