Does anyone know why a keyboard will not work in the Hardware configuration screen on startup?

I have tried three different keyboards and they all work normally, including in bios, but will not work in the above.

PS/2 or USB keyboard? If you've been using usb, try a PS/2 one.. Alot of older computers don't recognize or can't work with USB ports until they get into windows.

Bingo. My old P2 does not recognize my USB Mouse in DOS or even in Safe Mode.
