When I turn on the computer it goes through the memory check, finds the HD and CD, then it gives me the following message
"keyboard error or no keyboard present"
This has happened on "3" motherboards !!!!!!
One is a Tyan 1590s with an AMD K6-2-350, 64 meg, an old Permedia 3000 PCI video card, Seagate Bigfoot 6 gig HD, 250 watt Gateway power supply.
Two have been an FIC 503+ with an AMD K6-2-475, same memory, video, and HD as above, a different 250 watt generic power supply.
I've tried 4 different keyboards, one brand new, the keyboards work on other systems.
When installing I've taken all the precautions regarding static discharge and have powered down and been properly grounded when assembling and diassembling.
Have I somehow managed to fry 3 motherboards?????
If so any idea where the problem might lie???
The power supplies maybe???
The video card ??
The CPU's?
I've totally ran out of ideas as to a solution
