keyboard problem

i have a new microsoft wheel mouse optical, when i plug it into the usb port and start windows it works... but when i try to type i can't, my keyboard light is on..i know my keyboard works..

i have windows 98se and the keyboard is a logitech internet keyboard

how can i make the kb work?

Why bring up the mouse? Does it work when the mouse isn't connected? Is it plugged into the correct mobo connector? Could you try another keyboard?

I had no idea a friggen keyboard could be so complicated!
