keyboard problem or not

Hi, been reading forum for ages, just now got resigned in, have a question

Been having what appears to be kb buffer "clogging" when playing games, like Carbon and COD2. it will work fine for a bit, then when it happens, what ever key you have pressed will "stick on" even when you lift off of it. No, it isnt a sticky key/
Then car or man, in case of COD, will continue that direction for a few seconds, keys will be unresponsive,no forward, backward, or left/right, then it will instantly clear itself and continue normally. This happens say every2 minutes approx. but sometimes more random.
So i increased the keyboard buffer cache size twice, no difference. Tried a new USB keyboard, no difference.
But, i did find a means of stopping it from happening, all i have to do is close ATi Tools (ver 2.5) Everything normal after you close ati tool.
I am just wondering if anyone else knows of this weird happening, or why.
And could suggest some other software to monitor video temp, and set video card fan speeds like ATi tool does.
I dont overclock at all, all i use is the temp and fan controls, and would be nice to be able to keep a temp readout in taskbar too.

specs are AMD 64/3400 (stocl settings)
Abit AN8 nforce4
Win XP 2
Ati 1800XL (stock settings)
768 512-ddr400/256ddr333 I know, i need better memory, getting soon.
vid temps are low, usually no more than 33/49 via ati tool
cpu temp always below 40c
all voltages default.
Dont know if anything else would help, if so ask. Thanks

wow you had me thinking keyboard at first but another keyboard did it too! lol...

Since you isolated it to the atitools, make sure you download and install the latest ati driver/atitools for your videocard. that should fix the problem.

I dont use the contol panel that comes with drivers, over time all read is bad things about it, thats why i use Ati Tools. Never had a problem with them before, on other computers, and now to top that, my son says he is having the same problem on a new Asus board with a ati 19xx card (not sure which)
So anyone know if control panel is/isnt good to use? or something to set/monitor video fan speed?
