My brother installed a Logitech USB mouse ver. 8.60 on an old Dell PII-350. He had problems with freeze-ups so I disabled the serial mouse. Now, although the keyboard is showing up in Device Manager & the power light is on, it isn't working - but works in Safe Mode.

Any suggestions...?

While not an all-out solution, you "could" put the USB-to-PS/2 adapter on the Logitech mouse and use the PS/2 port. Have you used any other USB devices with it?

I haven't tried that yet. I think the jack for the ps/2 is bad, but this might be a good way to test it. He bought the logitech bec the mice were acting erratically. I've tried to tell him to get a new mobo & CPU - he can stay in the PII range if he wants to & it would be dirt cheap.
Anyway, I'll check out using the ps/2 adapter. If it doesn't work, he can call logitech's tech support. I have no idea what he did when he installed the usb mouse, but he obviously has conflicting drivers. It was one of those "I've screwed it up - come fix it" deals.:frown:

Thanks for the assist.
