Keyboard not responding at Vista login

I just built a new computer and somehow the install got corrupted at some boot file was missing, so I reinstalled Windows Vista after formatting the drive and doing a fresh install. I used vLite to do an unattended install and it worked fine, just like before, but when I am going to login at the login screen neither the mouse of the keyboard respond. I have them both plugged into a KVM switch so I tried plugging them into the computer directly and no dice. They keyboard and responds just fine to get into bios and works in bios but once it gets to the login screen on VISTA its like the keyboard disappears. Any ideas anyone?

I would make sure to install Vista with the keyboard/mouse connected directly and not through the KVM switch. Other than that I really can't see why you would have any problems, even with Vista.

Have you tried safe mode with the keyboard and mouse connected directly?
