Several times each day, a random application that I switch to ( alt+tab or via mouse selection ) has its keyboard layout remapped. The regular Qwerty keys remain ( a-z ), but most of the punctuation and symbol keys get remapped. The remapping is always the same.
My only solution thus far is to restart the affected application. Is there a means of resetting the keyboard mapping without restarting?
Cheers.
Additional info:
The usual applications I run at any given time are Thunderbird, Opera, Remote Desktop, Visual C++ 6, MSN Messenger, Codewright, and SourceOffSite. Don't know if one of those is the culprit or if it is XP itself.
I have both software and hardware firewalls, no viruses, and no spy/ad-ware.
