keyboard help

Try This

1)Run regedit Click on Edit -> Find kbdclass

2) Search through for as many "Upperfilters" you can find.

4) Double click the 'Upperfilter' and delete the other entry except 'kbdclass'

5) Search for all instances of this and change them

6) Go to device manager and uninstall your keyboard - then 'scan for hardware changes'

7) Restart

You could try a registry cleaner. And if that fails see if you can system restore to a point when your keyboard works.

have done both between posts, can navigate with kb in setup but not windows. Tomorrow is Monday...looks like I get a new keyboard...maybe USB with new software. Thanks for walking me through this.

Yea i'm stumped. The only other thing I can think of is try a repair install of windows but that is only if you have a retail or upgrade copy of windows, you can't do it with a restore disk or recovery partition.

I am not sure if your new keyboard might also have this problem. I'm pretty sure most keyboards use the same set of drivers in windows but dunno i might be wrong.
