keyboard help please...

My brother is having some problems with his keyboard. For some reason his "a,s,d and f" keys will not work. it just started yesterday all at once. He has tried rebooting, and unpluging the keyboard, but nothing helps. Any ideas?

Pop out the keys and clean it, just to be sure. I scrape up any goo stuck underneath with a toothpick and hold the vacuum on it to suck it up.

As for cleaning the keyboard he has already tried that too...its weird that "a,s,d,f" keys would stop working at the same time, sure has me stumped.

Seriously, if cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, test with a different keyboard. If all the keys work then it's time for a new board. The worst case scenario is that he buys a cheap replacement for $5 while he saves up for a really nice one.
