Is it correct that the "keyboard driver" controls your key shortcuts like screen brightness and key lights on the Macbook Pro screen and keypad?

If so, does anyone have a driver for Windows Server 2003? I have tried some macbook keyboard driver in the past but I get unsigned driver error. I believe it's because server 2003 is not supported. I know there is a way to bypass this. Does anyone have good tutorial on this or a driver written specifically for this? I want to set this up and create an image of this so I can go back to it when I want to.

My Macbook Pro is 13.3" version got it in the beginning of 2012.

thanks?^_^

If you get an unsigned warning it's because the driver wasn't digitally signed, it means nothing about OS support.

The drivers usually do handle those special keys, however they're still just key presses so if you could find software to receive and handle them that would work too. That's how those kinds of keys work in Linux. The standard USB HID drivers are used for the keyboard, but there are daemons that run in the desktops (e.g. Gnome, KDE, etc) and take the appropriate action whenever those special keys are hit.

Nothingman, thanks for posting, but I'm more interested in solution to the problem at hand...

Second, I'm not interested in hearing Linux. I know it's your favorite OS, but it has nothing to do with what I'm asking here.

I need a driver for my Macbook Pro keypad so I can adjust screen brightness and have control over other functions using hot keys on the keypad the laptop comes with for Windows Server 2003. I think you have to use the WinXP driver for this, but requires some special word around? Anyone experienced in this and have succeeded in doing so?

thanks. :)

I was using it as an example because it's something I know well and as an allusion that you can get what you need without additional drivers. But if you want to plug your ears and ignore me, that's fine.
