Keyboard cleaning tips

I am recycling an old USB Logitec keyboard my aunt used to have for my new system. I was cleaning it today, and noticed all the dog hair and junk under the keys where I could not reach (it looked like the dog used the computer more than her). Anyways, is there a quick and easy way to get rid of all the crap UNDER the keys? All the keys are clean I dont want to pop them off and put them in a bowl of warm water or anything.

My friend told me you can take out the screws and then actually wash the top half of the keyboard (which doesnt have any electrical components on it) by hand, but I'm not sure if he knows what he's talking about. Suggestions appreciated.

For a thorough cleaning, I prefer to take the keys off and clean, but it's time consuming.

I use a folded sheet of paper to quickly get the hair and junk from underneath the keys. I use compressed air to "loosen" it up (yuch!) and then slide the edge of the paper left and right between rows of the keys. This will push all the crap to the side of keyboard where it be lifted up and out with the paper.

Not the best way, but it works 🙂

i too use the paper method for getting out crud. if you do it every so often, you won't have to take the keys off

mine is expecially a pain because it is a white keyboard, but the paper trick always works for me
