Key remapping software for games

Quick question...does key remapping software work in games? Not interested in macro features, just switching W to Pg up key as an example. If yes, which software would you recommend?

auto hotkey does macros as well as remapping

Warning: AutoHotKey is also flagged by a lot of game anti-cheat software like PunkBuster.

You can remap the keys in most games in the options menu.

You shouldn't need any key remapping software. Go into the options menu of whatever game you're playing, and change the keys from there.

That USED to be the case, but it really isn't the case in 50% of the games out these days.
