Kewlies, you can move your mouse pointer by shining a laser pointer into its optical eye!

Yeah yeah, I know.. "You didn't know that?! Welcome to 2001... BC!" the thought never crossed my mind until now after using it to play with my cats.

You can also reprogram your car's ECU with that laser pointer. Not many people know about this. If you remove the protective top cover, you'll expose the circuit board.

On there, you'll find the photoelectric eye; it's location varies according to manufacturer, but it's on there. By shining the light at different angles, you engage the various reprogramming subroutines of the ECU.

Portable GC lamps will erase eproms in about a second. That's really bad to do say on a piece of hardware controlling defence systems. The bruises, dog bites and high speed ride in MP vehicle is worth it!
