Kettlebell swings on an off day

Stronglifts person here. I usually can't listen to advice and I do pushups/pullups and pistol squats on off days. I sometimes itch to do something different. Would kettlebell swings with a 35lb kettlebell qualify as 'too much' on an off day? I've been looking for an excuse to get a kettlebell.

You know, I would venture to say it would be. Have you ever done them at all? I think they break down your body fairly well... That's just my opinion. And I don't do them all the time or anything. I'm in good shape but a fairly newcomer myself to them.

It all depends on what you plan on doing. If you're just working on technique (swings, one-handed, cleans, snatches, windmills, turkish get-ups), I'd say no as long as it's really light loading.
