DoubleL:
Oh, I agree. I don't go to the hospital unless I've stopped breathing or have lost at least a quart of blood.

If doctors had to make a living off me they'd all be poor as church mice. But, yeah, I agree about Kerry's first PH. Also, is it just me, or does Kerry really strike everyone else as a bit of a wuss? I mean, GW is a complete moron, but at least he isn't a wuss. I hate wusses. And America is full of wusses today. Fat ones, mostly.
Not to digress, but my secondary MOS in the Marines was as the ABC non-com. (It later became NBC, as you may recall.) Anyway, we were out in the field at Camp Geiger and they were throwing canisters of every imaganible, non-lethal gas, at us and they started a roaring fire. Sheezh. It was August in N.C. so it was hot, hot hot. Anyway, about 30 minutes later they finally get a couple of pumpers over to the fire and WE, meaning the students, had to put it out. I don't know if you've ever held one of those hoses at the nozzle, but they are not small and the water pressure is pretty darn high, so it's like trying to control a 10,000 pound python.

Anyway, it was like Farhenheit 1000 in that woods and all of us had small burns from the embers, and we had swallowed and breathed about 2 hours of smoke, but no one went to the hospital. As I recall, I went to the NCO Club and took generous advantage of happy hour.

BUT, if Kerry got a PH, I should have gotten a PH, if injuries were the only qualification.
I know what you mean about the doc remembering you. I've had a lot of ex-Marine buddies send me emails out of the blue. Guys I haven't thought of for almost 40 years have written me. In fact, my Captain is one of them. He still thinks it was funny that he had to ask the Major to give me Captain's Mast just because I broke some dumb Sergeant's nose.

I didn't think it was too bloody funny at the time and it gets less funny every day. Two weeks of restriction to the barracks. Fvsk!
Scorpion sting? Sheezh, that would have been Medal of Honor material for Kerry.
Good luck, buddy.
