And that isn't doubly true for Bush?

I actually got a chuckle out of the original post (though this is nowhere near as overtly comical as any of literally dozens of Bushisms).

I still think your use of "neolibs" is misplaced, though.

Find my old post titled "neocon neocon neocon". I got lambasted for suggesting that "neocon" no longer be used as an insult. The definition of the term describes a valid idealogy, and is not an insulting term by nature. "Boo hoo, we hurt Rob's feelings. Go away and STFU!" So I will continue to use neolib, regardless of its true meaning.

Que sera, sera, I guess, but to me it just makes you sound ignorant and silly (and no, I'm not saying you ARE ignorant and/or silly).

Which was exactly my argument about the neocon label. I use it to show how silly "neocon" sounds. I'm glad my point got across, but I wish it were to the right people.

From my now locked thread:
But to retaliate against being called a liberal, call us the opposite: conservative. Neocon is starting to sound gay. It doesn't get under my skin, it just makes you libs sound childish. I suggested you stop for your own good, as it ruins your credibility. Just like "tin foil hats" and "kool-aid".

Tempist in a tea pot. Anybody with a brain can see he means not only in the globe underground, but on the surface of the globe too.

Back to the topic;

It's a funny quote. It's nearly like a bushism. Bush and Kerry have demonstrated that they are both fallible.

Nothing more to see here folks,,,,move along now.

10 points for using the word 'neolibs' without any hint of understanding that it actually refers to substantially the same world-view as 'neocon'.

Care to flesh that out any, as I disagree with you completely?

Well nobody expected Kerry not to say anything stupid, you talk in public long enough and you're going to slip up.

But come on, we're not really going to try to compare Kerry to the almighty Bush, king of the mangled words, are we?

I just thought it was funny, and would have posted the same message if Bush had said it. The difference is, I don't think it's a reflection of Kerry's intelligence.

And neocon does not mean the same thing as neolib. Goes to show you ATers don't know everything. (Of course, what I don't know could fill libraries.)

Please don't lump us all in with the spazzy people :)

Well, I wouldn't consider myself a lib in any case, but I just KNOW I'm being included whenever anyone says "lib" ;)
