Did Father Stage Alleged Attack?
Claims to have been assaulted by Dems three other times

Times-Patriot Staff Report

September 17, 2004 ? Phil Parlock and three of his children visited the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va., yesterday to catch a glimpse of Democratic vice-presidential candidate John Edwards. Parlock, a staunch Republican, and his family were there to show support for the Bush-Cheney ticket when they were assaulted by Kerry supporters, according to a report in the local paper, The Herald-Dispatch.

What the Herald-Dispatch failed to report, however, is that Parlock also claimed to be the victim of similar assaults at the hands of Democratic renegades in 1996 and 2000 ? a fact that casts doubts on Parlock's new claims.

Parlock's latest claim certainly is filled with the sort of drama that makes for a fine photo op. Sophia, his three-year-old daughter, was holding a Bush-Cheney sign when angry Democrats ripped the sign from her tiny hands, making her burst into tears. A photographer with the Associated Press happened to be right there to capture the heartbreaking tears leaking from Sophia's innocent eyes as she perched on her father's shoulders.

Compare this latest event with what allegedly happened to Parlock's family in 2000, when they tried to show support for Bush at a rally for Al Gore. At that rally, son Louis, then 12, had signs ripped right from his hands, according to a front-page report in the October 28, 2000, edition of the Charleston (W.Va.) Daily Mail. "I did not expect people to practically attack us," said Louis.

Or to what happened at a pro-Clinton event in 1996, as also reported in the Daily Mail. As he tried to display a sign that read "Remember Vince Foster," Parlock claims that Clinton supporters knocked him to the ground. "It must have been a strict Democrat who did this," said Parlock.

And then there's September 3 of this year, when, according to a WCHS-TV news report, a gunshot allegedly was fired into Cabell County Republican Headquarters where supporters gathered to watch coverage of the Republican National Convention. Among the alleged victims who managed to escape death that day? None other than Phil Parlock.

Parlock, a real-estate agent who was a regional coordinator for the Bush campaign in 2000, has unsuccessfully sought election to the Cabell County Board of Education on four separate occasions.

Parlock has ignored e-mails from The Times-Patriot asking him to comment on this story.

no idea about this source though

3 year olds are supposed to go see the circus and Sesame Street on stage, not get lugged around by their parents to political rallies.

Political rallies by there very nature are NOT intended for the pre-school audience.

Update? There is no proof, just the guy saying so. It looks just like him and the whole thing fits this guys MO.

From a smaller town as he is, if that was his kid there's be a load of people blowing the whistle on him. And since the union published an apology I would tend to believe they know what is going on, why take he blame if it wasn't one of their members?

He is fairly high profile in his own circle, if he isn't telling the truth about it being his son it will become evident in short order.

BTW if it does turn out to be his son, my money is on the kid in the BLUE shirt, not the grey.

Here's the story. A bush supporter was in the crowd, not disrupting, and holding a small sign. The kerry people took the sign from a 3 year old girl and tore it up in front of her.

How nice.

BTW, bush leads by FOURTEEN POINTS in the latest gallop poll.

Dems are desperate.

That picture says a thousand words. Look at the democratic guy with pieces of that girl's sign in his hands. Some stupid kid in a t-shirt with his hat on backwards, torturing a little girl, and laughing about it.

Here's how I see it. That guy is an aggressive 20-year-old neaderthal, attended community college for a few semesters, and talks about going back, but has no intention of doing so. Doesn't have a job, lives with his parents, and drinks beer with his buddies every night. He's not educated on politics, nor does he know the intricacies of the issues. All he knows is it's funny when people make fun of Bush on TV, and calls himself a democrat because all his friends do, and knows that Bush is against anyone who isn't rich.

Meanwhile, the girl's father has an MBA, and is a successful businessman. He has a nice family who eats dinner at the table every night. He is active in the community and with his children's school. He has a nice financial portfolio, which he plans on using for retirement and his children's college. He thought it would be nice to take the family down to a Bush rally. After he gets there, he picks up a Bush/Cheney sign for his little girl, who thinks it's so neat she can participate like the other people. They didn't go there to bother anyone, just to have a good time and show support for their candidate.

Then this a$$hat comes up, and steals the little girl's sign, and rips it up in front of her. "Fsck Bush!" he may have shouted, with no thought to cussing in front of a little girl. The dad doesn't lash out. Instead he consoles his daughter, tells her it's OK and that he'll get her another sign. You can be sure of one thing, that girl will never vote democratic her entire life.

Incredible. Sounds like you've been watching too much Leave it to beaver.

People are sick ignorant fools. Wheres a dictator when you need them? Isn't that what an extravagant self-indulgent citizenry needs?

Why do you even bother posting something like this? You act as if it's official policy for Kerry supporters to tear up signs of 3 year old Bush supporters. A single incident - no matter how bad - is not reason to label a group of people. Sheez...

Just read the post below this. If that's the case then why is this guy still getting attention? I would think that the media would've learned by now. Oh wait, it's a story... ;disgust;

And if this hoax thing is true I hope the OP makes a correction and admits he got duped! ;)

This Parlock guy was also apparently involved in that shooting of the GOP headquarters office right after the RNC. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who fired the shot!

So this Parlock guy being a scumbag excuses everyone else from being a scumbag also, and advocating violence against children?

"She got what she deserved"

"They should have beat up the father"
