Kerry=lies and flip-flops.

I also love his "stop sending jobs overseas" but dont buy american either! (He wants to buy canadian drugs, doesnt he think that will cause job loss?)

At least he didnt have to make a carrer in the bad military, it is much easier to marry someone rich.

Is it me or do all the dems that ran this year seem looney?

Why would buying drugs from Canada cause job loss? Most drugs in Canada are manufactured in the U.S. anyway. Of course we wouldn't have to buy drugs from Canada if Bush wasn't so retarded and actually allowed for price negotiating in the Prescription drug plan.

This has got to be one of the most retarded posts I have ever seen on AT. Period.

Just you

(PS. Your comment about Canadian drugs is extremely ignorant. You might want to do a little research before you start yapping. IMO.)

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

You love to post one-liner personal attacks. Can you back any of them up with informed opinion, or is throwing stones your only talent? If you think SViscusi's post is so "retarded", show us that there is a basis for your opinion. While his wording is a bit provocative, his points are accurate and significant.

Why does Foxnews.com show the Whitehouse before it shows the article? I love my country too but this is just too patriotic. I don't need to see the Whitehouse in my dreams.

Bowfinger, you of all people should know that it is pointless to take the time and justify your opinion here on Anandtech. Nobody reads it, or cares, for that matter.

a bush supporter has some gal to speak of lies.

let alone marrying someone rich, class warfare? when did he marry this woman? straight out of the military like some gold digger, or when he was already old? are you daft?

just remember the veteran groups against kerry are the same ones that called McCain a collaborating coward during 2000 against bush. easy to spew lies to distract from your own candidates far worse shortcomings.

So... we should all just resort to name calling and personal attacks while not providing any substance/deliberation/conversation to any of our posts?

Its funny how Bush and Co. (and I assume you) are cool with outsourcing EVERYTHING (thus losing American jobs) to countries that have almost no standard of living but freak the hell out when Canada can provide American citizens with the same safe drugs for FAR CHEAPER then we are forced to buy here at whatever prices our drug companies want to set as the GOP MADE IT ILLEGAL FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA to sway any sort of power into negotiating lower price.

Its called pandering to those who keep you in power.

You should get it right, That is not true, The so called group against Kerry was around long before McCain ever thought of running and now the group is a very large one, The ones that Kerry used to help with his lies were never in Vietnam

OK first of all canadian drugs are only cheap because the government picks up the tab for most of the costs, which wont last long if more and more started to leave the country.

Secondly, no pharmasutical companies would research new drugs because they would make less profit if we bought canadian. The job loss refers to this as well as pharmacies across the land. Less drugs being sold in the US = less druggists in the US.

Let capitolism work. If the governemnt tries to regulate everything no one will want to be in business because of high costs and lower profits. There is a great class called economics 100 that people who dont understand how capitolism works should take. We didnt get to be the largest economy in the world by giving everything away.

You're making the assumption that pharmaceutical companies are barely making a profit, and if they had to sell at a lower price they would lose money and be forced to stop R&D. I argue that position is a total fallacy. The drug companies make extremely handsome profits. Furthermore, they spend so much on advertising and marketing to convince people they need their drugs, sometimes actually double the cost of R&D is spent on brain wash ads (all those nice ads of people enjoying the sun and riding horses with ncie music but some low voice in the background listing about 500 side effects)

right on the money!

Something Economics 101, Adam Smith, Keynes and any other economist will never teach you. All economic models leave out a key factor - underestimating the greed, dishonesty and downright vile nature of businesses. Does this apply to all businesses, of course not? But the greed factor is rarely if ever calculated in.

Pharmaceutical companies spend more money on advertising and bribes/greasing palms/campaign contributions then they do on R&D

less money less ads less need for ad companies etc it will all work out trust me. Supply meets demand if people werent willing to pay for drugs they dont need (since the drug companies need to CONVINCE them they need it) the drug companies wouldnt be able to charge as much as they do. Profit is all about capitolism een if greed is a factor people dont pay for the items they dont want.

I know its my fault this is really two topics but anyone who wishes to furhter discuss the drug thing please make a new thread. otherwise my intention was the war vets

You really are one of the dumbest mofos on this board. You do know those "canadian drugs" are made in the USA. Do you know why they call it "REimportation" instead of just "imporation?" Take a few years to figure that one out 😀
