**Insane3D Approved Democratic Candidate Thread Posted By Cad**

:p:Q

:D

Edit:

I can't say as this is surprising though. Dean is the leader, so the others are going to concentrate their attacks on him.

gephardt sucks ass. i heard him on the radio this morning saying that the "democratic party induced" tax cuts to the middle class were part of the reason the economy was up in 3Q. then they played a clip of him one year ago lambasting the "republican" tax cuts as going all to the wealthy. pretty funny to hear them side by side.

WTF! I understand that these candidates have to work hard for a vote but.... its already gotten to the point where they're attacking each other? I mean, the average american probably can't tell these candidates apart, yet all they're gonna are ads about why X candidate sucks FROM THE SAME FRIGGIN PARTY.

I feel more comfortable posting in an "Insane 3D Approved" thread. Now if we can get a little icon so we can ID these kind of posts from the main list.... ;) Anyway, I really expect this sort of nonsense considering there's a shake-out in progress. The dems have to end up with 1 candidate in the end, so these sort of shenanigans are par for the course. I think John Edwards, Dick Gephardt and John Kerry are simply realizing that perhaps their campaigns are too middle of the road and not the kind of change from Bush that the unions and democratic voters are looking for. IMO, I really don't know for sure what democratic voters are looking for. I'm sure if Dean wins it, he'll probably temper things back a bit. Interesting to watch things ebb and flow :)

Folks will do and say just about anything for the vote of the people dumb enough to believe them. The folks will give the nod to the most charismatic democrat not with standing his ability to win in Nov '04. The string pullers will always hold the strings on both sides of the isle. Clark will prevail or Bush will.. either way what we lose at one end we'll gain at the other. Where you are is all that matters.. you either gain or lose. Not much in between. Seems to me.

Clark eh? Hasn't his shine worn off just a tad? Can he survive Iowa and N.H.? Will he stand up and vigorously differentiate himself?

Dean is proposing return to Clinton Era taxation policies, which is the way to move towards surpluses without hindering the economy. Can't argue with success.
Also, Democratic president and republican congress will counterbalance each other, so that this country stays moderate, instead of the far right push that the GOP is trying to push on a country that's split down the middle.

Dean has won the SEIU endorsement:

Dean set to get major union endorsement
WASHINGTON (AP) ? Howard Dean is getting a prized presidential endorsement from the AFL-CIO's largest union, top officials from the Service Employees International Union told at least three Democratic campaigns Wednesday night.

The endorsement, to be announced Thursday, is raising hopes in Dean circles that the former Vermont governor and Democratic front-runner also can win backing from another politically powerful union that so far has remained neutral, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

The SEIU endorsement will be announced after the union's 63-member executive board meets with Dean on Thursday, campaign sources said, insisting on anonymity.

SEIU spokeswoman Sara Howard said Dean is the only candidate being considered, but the board could decide not to endorse anyone.

"Tomorrow, the local leaders who comprise SEIU's executive board will come together to decide whether the union should endorse," she said. "Until they vote on that question, any speculation as to the result of that vote is just that ? speculation."

But other officials said it was a done deal.
