He linked to HWC. I was talking about the same links you quoted and then specifically mentioned which I quoted.
We don't know how GameGPU gets their DX11 and DX12 #s, but we do know that you can't directly compare FRAPs vs PresentMon vs Action or anything else that records FPS because they all do so differently.
Do try to follow the conversation. He did link to HWC, and then I told him that I wasn't just talking about the RX 480 and the GTX 1060, but the entire AMD and NVidia lineup. Anyway, the spread between DX11 and DX12 in TWW for NVidia has always been fairly large from most benchmarks I've seen.
There are plenty of well optimized DX11 games, so if there is no increase it makes zero sense to include GoW4 in the discussion at all.
Indeed, yet there are very few well optimized DX12 games. Gears of War 4 on the other hand, is definitely one of them and as I stated earlier, you don't need a comparison with a DX11 version to see that as it is self evident. Gears of War 4 is perhaps the most optimized title I've ever played in fact, and I base this on how it uses PC hardware and how it performs.
Gears of War 4 is the first game I've ever seen that uses tiled resources, something which has been available to devs since DX11.2.
