Sup,

Just wondering, my Kenwood truex performance has always sucked. I am wondering if I should have DMA checked for it under device manager on win98se.

If so, how? When I check it and click ok and og back in, its already unchecked. I've tried it in combination with the sync data and disconnect options to no avail. I wish this stupid 100 dollar drive didn't suck as much as my 20x liteon.

Thnx.

you should set it as master on its own IDE chain (no secondary device) and DMA enabled.
I'm pretty sure that's what the manual says.

like i said, make sure there are no other devices on that same IDE chain. This means no secondary device. Also, enable DMA

Let me rephrase. It's currently secondary master, without any slave on that channel.

I had to update to the latest firmware in order for windows to allow me to check DMA.

Still no go.

Kenwood 52x for 10x?+ DVD Drive...
