Its place in schools is in literature classes. Taught alongside Shakespeare, Twain and other fiction. Giving it a specific course and not teaching it as fiction is a disgrace in an educational institution.

To be fair, in my school we had a 'history' class in each grade, but they were different subjects like American history, European history, and it extended into civics as well so I think one was like American Government. I could see a 'Religious text studies' class ending up as a singular-year english studies class. Not necessarily a break-out (unless it was an elective of course).

I was incorrect. Religion does have historical significance across human history, there have been a bundle of them, preceding and following the more prominent ones of today. Even a religious history class should still be making the point that it's all fiction and been proven false on multiple fronts.

If people want children to believe myths, they should be paying for them to go to a private school that spreads these stories and indoctrinating them on their own time, not at the public's expense. At least not in a free society, I can see this being done in a theocracy.

We had comparative religion classes where we learned about all religions, Christianity did not have a more prominent role than any of the other both dead and modern religions. In history classes the religion of the various people and events was brought up but nothing in the Bible was discussed there.

Churches like this don't build themselves! This is actually a "church" in Louisville, KY

A perfect example of the money changers in action. Worshiping money instead of the creator, the gospel of prosperity exemplified.

It's time to bring the full weight and power of the federal, state, and local governments to bear on the religious lives of Americans.

I think it would be awesome to use the power of government to enforce a sects religious laws on those who claim to follow that sect.

Who's with me?

I'd sure like to know how those Kentuckians rationalized their way around the 1A.

But it seems to me that all the people of the nation have to do is keep voting in evangelists as POTUS and their SCOTUS picks would obviously lean that way, and there goes the long held separation rule.

I believe that they were expecting a flood of cash to occur around the construction of their retarded ark. If I'm honest, do you think that a primitive man like Noah would construct a vehicle anything like that complete with gift shops? When it comes to onboarding these money changers forgot the lesson they're pushing here by only using one front man to promote this steaming pile. They used a single man when they're promoting a pile of chicken and bull sh!t which are pairs.😱😀

Yep. Children get sleeping sickness because they are sinful. Fact.

This is actually argued in real life. Because of original sin everyone is born into sin (and thus deserving of whatever happens to them).

I think it was Aquinas that argued that all veneral acts are sinful and this is how original sin is transferred through the generations. Think it started with Augustine but Aquinas cemented the idea that this is how original sin transfers.

Satan appeared to Eve in the Garden of Eden as a serpent and convinced her to violate God's commandment to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Once she'd done so and fallen she convinced her husband Adam to do the same condemning humanity to a life of sin. Jesus appeared to them later to play hide and seek, true story, and sewed them up some fig leaf clothes which were the original fashion statement for mankind.😱😛

Yeah but Augustine was a bit of a whack. Seeking forgiveness for being a cranky baby is not normal.

Lets cut through the shit. This is all about bashing gays, hating on abortion and telling everybody else that they are going to hell..... and only two of those things are in the Bible.

Christians are always wondering why atheists care so much about disproving their God. It is because Christians do things like this which are an objective evil for society.

We have a duty to society to root out all evil and extremism be it from religion or inbreeding.
