I have a friend who has a friend who works as a USDA inspector and they said that KFC grows their chickens instead of letting them do it the old fashion way. Thats why there was a switch from kenucky fried chicken to KFC. What gives? Are we eating genetically grown chicken clones? LOL, but Im serious..

Yes, they aren't really chickens at all. They are actually nothing more than some genetically engineered rats made to taste like chicken.

For all the facts about KFC and their "chickens" read here

They use real chicken.

Theres a lot of different things they can do to make chickens grow faster. I had an uncle that work doing alot of different jobs at a Tyson plant.

The reason for the name change is that people outside the US don't know what Kentucky is. They are trying to make the product a global name like McDonalds and KFC is better for that than Kentucky Fried Chicken.

what does genetically grown mean? you can't genetically "grow" something:p best you can do is inseminate which we've been doing for games. the other rumor was that they grow just the parts. now if that were true it would be great. no animal cruelty. too bad we don't have such technology. we could grow replacement human organs if that were true:p

within the US the name change is because "Fried" is a no no for consumers, even if thats what it is.

EDIT: heh, its almost like esso spending millions to come up with a word that means nothing in any language. they came up with "exxon" and then changed it only in the US, where esso doesn't mean anything anyway.
