Think it's a hoax? I think not.

The gist of it is this...Indiana allows gambling on the ohio river, kentucky doesn't like that. Kentucky wants a submarine to seek and destroy "all casino riverboats of the enemy in Indiana."

Nuts, hu?

<< A RESOLUTION encouraging the purchase and vigorous use of the USS Louisville 688 VLS Class submarine.
WHEREAS, in the past few years the scourge of the casino riverboat has been an increasingly significant presence on the Ohio River; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio River borders the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, the siren song of payola issuing from the discordant calliopes of these gambling vessels has led thousands of Kentucky citizens to vast disappointment and woe; and
WHEREAS, no good can come to the citizens of Kentucky hypnotized from the siren song issuing from these casino riverboats, the engines of which are fired by the hard-earned dollars lost from Kentucky citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

It goes on.... 😛

the casino "riverboats" technically do "cruise" on the Ohio River, however the cruise consists of occassionally leaving the dock, moving about 50 yards off shore, about 50 yards downstream (at about 0 mph) then returning to dock. They even proposed digging out a "pond" that had some vague connection to the ohio river (through a pipe?), and floating a boat on the pond, but the army corps of engineers would not approve it.

besides, a submarine would be to complicated for someone from Kentucky to operate.
they probably could handle a row boat pretty well
