Kentucky cop shoots innocent black man

Surveillance video from the elevator shows Jouett removing his gun from a holster under his coat with his right hand, then appearing to attempt to put it back, while holding a box and a bag in his left hand.
"He was transitioning the holster and transitioning the gun out of his holster. He was going to carry it in his hand as they walked to the car. As he was pulling the gun from the holster, a round discharged, ricocheted in the elevator, struck him in the stomach," Cincinnati Capt. Michael John said.
The video shows Jouett fall to the floor as his wife calls for help. Jouett gets out of the elevator when the doors open and sits down again. Jouett's wife was not hurt.
Police said Jouett is a 25-year veteran with the department.
The shooting remains under investigation. Jouett could face charges in the case.

Don't you know that safeties kill people? You don't want to be fumbling with one of those when a bum is rushing you with a broken spoon, and since shooting people is our gods-given right as Amurricans we can't really expect all or even most users to be competent, so instead we lower the bar enough that all you have to do is move the trigger.

To be fair to Kentucky, as it needs as much defense as it can get...this guy is more like Southern Ohio as that is just a southern suburb of Cincy 😛

There didn't seem to be a reason for it. Maybe it was uncomfortable and he was trying to adjust it, but jesus christ, what happened is exactly what'll happen when you're careless with firearms.

I think he was trying to get laid.

Bullshit. Didnt go off until after he was trying to reholster it.

Teaches him to go for the cops gun, but don't think he meant any harm, just wanted to look at it. Cop was a little trigger happy there.

At least no donuts were wasted though, the way the box landed they should be perfectly fine. Close call though.
