Thanks for the heads-up on the great deal. I picked one up today, they only had one in the closeout area, but the shelf in back was full of them.

It takes a little getting used to, but it is more comfortable than my MS scroll mouse because it is more ambi friendly. I left mouse and this fits my hand better.

Hmmmmm, I picked one up at my OD in Chicago area for $24. Something wrong here. Anyways I installed the thing and it totally screwed my system up - after re-booting the mouse was showing up with a question mark so I re-installed the win98 driver re-booted and all H*ll broke loose. Windows detected new hardware on just about everything in my computer. Now as a result my network connection is down (I'm typing this on my wife's pc) and most of my hardware is down (including my two CD-ROM drives) or operating in a limited fashion. Anyone else have any problems with this mouse and its wonderful driver software?

Went to three different OD's in San Diego today - two had this for $24.88, a third for 19.99.

For the same price, they have the Logitech Optical - a MUCH better buy...

These mice are a piece of crap.. stay away from kensington.. ive gone thru 2 wheel usb mice and 2 usb optical... u ask why 2 of each? Cuz they were a replacement for the first one i bought... and no i dont use it anymore, its ergonomically painful... i use the ms intellimouse optical. The kensington optical would make my other computer fail to even boot... and had constant driver problems... but for that cheap price, maybe someone could be happy, doubt it tho. This isnt a thread crap, hot price considering its normally 25-30 but who here really can find these OD clearance deals.

i have the mouse in a box optical now... i dunno, the damn wheel doesn't work on my computer. and the drivers that kensington recommends, didn't do nay good... anyway, it's good enough for me. at least there isn't that annoying red light like the intellimouse. i hate that.

I bought one of the Mouse-in-a-Box mice about 2 months ago for $9.99 (it had a price tag of $19.99, but a sign saying $39.99 - $20 instant rebate) ... I use it in Win2k, which Kensington does not support very well. Basically, it's a 3 button optical mouse for me since I can't get the side buttons working with MS or Logitech drivers, and Kensington drivers are pathetic. (note: works fine in 98)

As for its actual performance, I have noticed one problem in mine. Holding a mouse button down seems to send a repeating signal, rather than keeping one signal active. For example, in Quake 3 if I shoot the lightning gun, it's in pulses instead of a steady stream. Maybe I got a defective one? I don't know, but for $10 I'm happy with it as a general use mouse. Logitech Mouseman+ USB for everything else ;)

The OD $20 off $20 still works here in Portland, Oregon. I have a really nice desk lamp, charcoal gray fan, and some other stuff.

I was able to pick these up for $3.88 each here in Indy. One store had them for $8.88 and the manager come over and said he would deal on any of the stuff on the clearance table. So I bought 5 of them and he said $3.88 each. I about fell over. I can post the receipt if anyone wants it. Which I'm sure everyone will.
