Kennedy Center layoffs after receiving bailout

And exactly why we shouldn't have bailed out any company that wasn't essential to the country. I'm not even sure I'm for bailing out any company. I mean if an airline can't save a nickel when times are good maybe they should be out of business.

You are taking your eye off the ball.

you can always find a chud when you find someone who thinks culture isn't essential.

While I don’t often agree with Trashcan Man, I’ve got to defend him here. As the Post pointed out, the Kennedy Center has a $100 million endowment and a $25 million taxpayer funded bailout. At the very least, they should be more transparent over why they are not paying NSO salaries through April.

Yes, I used to live in DC and enjoyed the weekly free performances and I understand its contribution to the cultural landscape. But that doesn’t mean they’ve earned a pass to not pay their performers.

the article explains whats going on if you read it.

I heard the Rocket's Owner Tilman Fertitta just laid off like 40k workers. Whereas Steve Ballmer has decided to pay all of his staff. True colors shows up during difficult times.
