Granted, Ken Shamrock is well past his prime, and I think his most recent fights have shown that his style hasn't really evolved since he started, but does anyone think that he can't beat Kimbo?

Has been vs overrated street brawler (who was security for reality kings)...

IF KEN can survive the kimbo's onlsaught then he should be able to snag a leg and sub him. though Ken has been knocked out something like 5 out o his last 8 fights.

but i think Ken should iwn.

the fight i am looking to is the Lesner/randy fight.

That's Keyra Gracie, not Carano.
 
I think Ken is too old at this point to handle such a brawl but if the fight can get to a technical level, Ken should have the edge as he's better rounded. It'd be interesting to see.
 
I want to see Kimbo Slice fight Oleg Taktarov instead of Shamrock.

...and yeah, Kenny fought Hoyce Gracie iirc. Back when Hoyce decided it was a good idea to wear a 'gi while trying to fight.
 
I say Kimbo takes it. He's been training too long now with Bas Rutten and isn't just some guy off the street anymore. Besides that Ken is too arrogant and lost 8 of his last 10 fights by KO or TKO. If Ken is smart and takes it to the ground ASAP he has a damn good chance of winning but I seriously doubt he will. Odds are Ken will stand and trade at least a bit with Kimbo and that will be his downfall.

Elitexc knows what they are doing when setting up fights for Kimbo, big names but non that are that good(these days) who are also likely to lose against Kimbo.

did you see his last fight? he had NO clue what to do on the ground. IF ken gets him down its over.

also Thompson had kimbo beat but the ref wouldnt call it. and the first chance that the ref had to stop it for kimbo he did.

I still am fully convinced Kimbo is nothing but a farce (an entertaining farce, but a farce none the less). As long as Shammy doesn't try and stand and bang with Kimbo, he should be able to get him down and rip off a limb.

I love how so many people dismiss Kimbo... people keep forgetting he's training under Bas Rutten. His ground game is still weak but it's getting better, and I can't think of anybody better to train Kimbo than Bas. So many people in so many forums constantly diss Kimbo it's getting old already. Kimbo has some wild potential; he's trimmed down to 235 from 270 lbs and he's a lot more lean now than he was back in the street fighting days. His speed has gone up and he's learning, and his street fighting days gave him a concrete chin so anybody that attempts the striking game with him is going to have a very hard time. Watching his fight with Tank Abbott, people kept talking about how strong Abbott was and how if one of Abbott's haymakers connects that Kimbo would be out. In the actual fight Abbott hit Kimbo 2-3 times square in the jaw and Kimbo just shrugged it off.

Kimbo also has the hunger that fighting in the street brings. That hunger, that willpower, is what will allow him to continue to grow stronger and faster. I still wouldn't put him in the top 10 fighter list, but he is approaching top ten territory and if he keeps up that level of training with Bas, then he very well may achieve it.
