Kellen Winslow traded to Tampa

Cool! Finally some good news for tampa after the gauntlet of cuts this week. 🙂

Most teams seem to be going the New England route and cutting older and more expensive players. Indianapolis, Atlanta, Tampa, etc.

I'm not sure about this deal, as a Browns fan. We have aging Steve Heiden, and rookie Martin Rucker behind him.

If we did this for a 3rd and a 5th or something like that, I'm going to be pissed.

Mankok should probably disclose what picks they got now.

I'm not sure it's good news. Did you see who is on the bench behind him? Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. And if we draft a TE, there's no point to this deal. Other than getting rid of KII being a whiny bitch sometimes.

Wonder what that means about the qb situation, Winslow was the only person Quinn felt comfortable throwing to

I think there are a lot more moves mankok will make before the draft.

I am thinking they may hold onto DA, and make the two compete for the job. This will probably be the best course of action. Especially since we haven't seen much out of Quinn at this point. However, if we trade DA for the reported low 1st and a 3rd we can ask for him, we'd be able to address a lot more needs right now.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see them dump Shaun Rogers for a 1st, draft Raji, and then draft BPA.

Im not exactly pleased at this point. In fact im pretty fucking pissed about the Sean Rogers thing and this just seems like icing on the cake. Im going to give the guys the benefit of the doubt and withhold judgment until next season but holy hell this does not look good. If its as fucked up as it looks right now I will no longer be a browns fan. Im sick of all of the bullshit bonehead moves that organization has pulled. Chargers here I come... (maybe)

Is he any good?

All I see is he can't wheelie a motorcycle.

When he played, he had the best hands on the team.

However, his knee is shredded. Dude has cleanup surgery on that knee after every off season. He can't practice most of the time, because he can hardly walk after games.

If we got a 1st out of a Rogers trade, and drafted Raji, would you still be displeased? It's unlikely Rogers goes anywhere. But I wouldn't be angry @ that scenario.

I wouldn't take the Shaun Rogers thing to heart. He's known for being a bitch. Mangini has a lot to address with free agency/draft/etc. I can't say I blame the guy for saying no to a one on one meeting. He's got a lot of other shit to do. The letter about not reporting to off-season conditioning if Rogers didn't meet a certain weight was a little uncalled for. But still, you're under contract. You're a beast. Obviously coach wants you around. Mangini isn't a buddy, buddy cream puff like Crennel was. Should he apologize for not sucking you off before a charity event? More players should take Cribbs' attitude towards having a hard nosed coach, which put simply is "good".

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.c...ngs/index.html?eref=T1 final details on the winslow trade...

Sources say the Browns got a second-round pick this year and a fifth-rounder in 2010 from Tampa Bay in exchange for tight end Kellen Winslow, Cleveland's first-round pick in '04. That strikes me as a great deal for the Browns, to get that much for a player they weren't very enamored with.

heard on sirus that the Browns are shopping all 3 players. Atlanta is the likely suitor for Cory Williams and the Browns are in deep discussion with the Giants and Niners about a possible Edwards trade. They said Stallworth will either be cut or traded for a 7th

Sounds like a fire sale! Do we try and get in position to draft Crabtree now? I have no idea what we'll do now.

If we only got a third round pick out of trading Winslow I will be PISSED.

Irregardless of the fact that his knees are pretty banged up, he's still one of THE best receiving TE's in the NFL, and is worth WAY more than a third round pick ....

So um, if we traded Stallworth and Edwards, that would leave us with WHO exactly as our #1 receiver? Syndric Steptoe? Uh ...

Sounds like we make a run for Crabtree if we dump BE. Imagine how many picks we would have if we got rid of all those guys, plus DA. If we drafted right, it could turn the team around immediately.
