Keep the TNT2 Ultra? Or go for a GeForce MX?

Here's my current config:

Duron 700@900
Asus A7V
128 megs PC133
Creative TNT2 Ultra 32 AGP
SB Live Value
30 gig IBM Deskstar

I've got my $150 amazon GC to burn fromt he MCI promo and am looking at the Geforce MX (it's $149). I don't do much 3D gaming. Most recent games I play are Diablo 2 and Age of Empires. I do dabble in the occasional space/sims (ie starlancer). Should I go for the MX? Will I even see that much of benefit given the games I play (even then, I don't play them that often)?

Let me know your opinions!

I'd hang on to the Ultra until NV20 shows up, its still a pretty decent card.
Even if the NV20 turns out to be WAY expensive it will probabaly push the prices of the other vid cards(Radeons, GTS's, and whatever V5's are left) down a notch.

Not worth it if thats all you play. The mx will inadequate for the next generation fps games and you'd be better off getting a gts for ~150 later on. You should never spend 149 on a mx card unless its a dual head model.

I'm with Tonec on this one. Original poster would find it hard to find games that would stress a 3d card less. I am told that Diablo 2 runs in 640x480, and it is really 2D jazzed with a bit of 3d effects.

The Voodoo5 is about $150. And you said you play Diablo II, which runs best in Glide. That would be much faster than an MX in other games, too.

Keep your Card, spend it on on something else, you wont notice any difference in the games u run IMO.

Diablo II will run better on a V5. And he plays space sims, any simulation game(space/flying/racing/sports) will look worlds better with the V5's FSAA.

You have options but how long will there be driver support for Voodoo cards ,two months ,four months, a year?Nobody really knows so you could either go with ATi or Nvidia,if you don`t play that many games do you need to upgrade your card?I would say your processor would benefit from a faster card so it`s down to ATi Radeon 32mb or Gerforce2 MX, or even a Geforce2 GTS is just in your price range if you look around.

Keep it, and wait for next gen card.
TNT2U is still pretty fast today, no need to upgrade to GTS or Radeon or V5 yet.
Use the money to buy a DC or PS2 instead.

I don't do much 3D gaming

Don't bother upgrading then. Keep your TNT2 Ultra until you do start playing 3D games.

yeah, spend that $150 on something OTHER than computers. Stuff you might need around the house or something... or, if you know someone that wants it, sell it for cold cash.

Keep the TNT2 Ultra...

Buy the significant other something.. Good idea to "loosen" them up for even more future PC purchases. ;)
