I know that there are laws for separation of church and state, but for some reason I thought there was something in the bible (in the new testament most likely) about keeping law and religion separate as well.

Am I mistaken?

Closest thing that comes to what you're thinking that I can recall:

Matthew 5:25-26
25"Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. 26I tell you the truth, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

There is a section where Paul writes about respecting the laws of your country after the laws in the Bible. While this certainly does not imply separation of church and state, it implies that living under a secular government is not something to be actively avoided.

Didn't Jesus say to give to Caesar what is due to him and to God what is due to him? That could be seen as implying separation of a secular state and the church.

my religion believes that we are subject to man's governance and that we should support and obey the laws of the govt.

whether christianity speaks against
Theocracy or not , i have not clue.

as a christian, i fully support the US Constitution and the govt. in staying in the framework the US founders laid.
