KDS=Viewsonic?

Alright so i was shopping for a monitor for my friend and he had around $200. we go to office depot and we saw this kds monitor it was a 19 inch x flat, so then we looked at some of the viewsonics they looked pretty similar in the quality but the viewsonic was like 50 more. so the sails rep came up and was saying that when viewsonic came out with a new model of monitor they put it in a different casing and sell it as KDS, but the problem is is this KDS monitor has better dot pitch then any of the viewsonics at there website. so are they the same company? is kds pretty good?

I believe ViewSonic is a U.S. based company. Both ViewSonic and KDS source some of their monitors from the same manufacture. KDS for example now uses Sampo for their CRT monitors.
 
yes, Viewsonic is US based, but the boss is Taiwanese.
There are so many US brand names, US companies are run by Taiwanese, not only in computer hardware.
