KDS RAD-7 17" LCD Monitor $550 @ Walmart B&M

Saw 3 of these in one of the local Walmart store, no shelf tag.
Asked for a price check, and was told it's $549.82 - rolled back from $650(?). They also have the Rad-5 for ~$377.
Warm deal?

Not all walmart's carry the RAD-7 and the RAD-5 should be $350 at all walmart stores.

I don't about the difference in quality but I am a little bit reluctant to purchase KDS monitors since they went bankrupt recently and their service may eventually degrade.

can someone point me in the direction of more info on the bankruptcy ...cause there is nothing besides that single article.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen more than one reference to this "bankruptcy" for KDS either. It would seem that if it were actually true, the news would be all over the computer industry publications.

They did file for bankruptcy a while back. I do not remember the details any more. On the other hand, I have not heard anything else since then.

From what I understood, it was another division of KDS... not the portion that manufactures the monitors.

I could be wrong though.

the bankruptcy was one issue that detered me from purchasing a KDS monitor. I dont know how they are going to handle their warranty services in the future if something unforseen should happen.

"It's $499 at Sams (Usually right next door). " - AmusedOne

So the question becomes, does WalMart price-match Sam's????

"So the question becomes, does WalMart price-match Sam's????"

I doubt it.
I think "membership clubs" are treated differently for price-matching.
Anyone try yet?😕

But WalMart clearly has large signs in every store stating:

"We'll match ANY competitor's price...."

Sam's and Walmart are separate corporate entities and by virtue of being in a separate store-front, represent competition for each other. They'll price-match CostCo or any of the other large grocery stores with club membership requirements....

This is an excellent monitor, I have one and it was purchased from Sams about 3 or 4 months ago for $560.

KDS "USA" didn't go out of biz, it was another division in another Country. Sorry don't have a link but I am sure it was in one of the old posts, see below.

Most of the stuff you guys are talking about , and a lot more, have been well covered in previous posts. IE: Quality, this one vs. that one, gaming (it rulez), etc etc. Just type in KDS Rad into the search and you will get all the info you need.

I am using KDS 19 in Flat screen
very nice monitor I had to RMA it once but I got it for $260 nice deal.
their RMA service is very nice.
