Just wandering if any have experience with kds for monitor returns/repair. I've got a AV 19TF that has a bad problem with convergence. Shiping it back and using the advanced repair option where they are shipping a new one to me before receipt of my current monitor.

Unless I get a refurb I don't think I can get another AV model as I bought it on close out. So I should get a XF model?

Also noticed that with the newer models they've adjusted the warranty so that after 12 months the buyer must pay shiping to and from.

Just interested in your thoughts on this and previous experience.

I was able to call them and they sent me a new one and then I shipped back the old one. It went pretty smooth. The didnt pay for return shipping.

I had an older KDS monitor that I did the pre-ship thing with. They sent me the exact same monitor even though it was about 2 years old, so they'll probably just send you back the same model.

They do have a good RMA program, though. I was contemplating sending back my AV-195TF because the tube has gotten this weird brightness to it, even if I turn the brightness all the way down, and it lets out a high pitched hum at low resolutions sometimes.

I like the monitor a lot and I figured it'd probably be worth it for me to just RMA mine than buy a new one.

I've used them the same way as you. No problems. But I did get a refurb replacement, not a new one. Warrenty is only 12 months too.

Get a CTX montor. Much better.;)

I think the KDS is now at 3 years warranty when they introduced the AV series a couple years back.

My AV19TF has a convergence problem. Not really noticable with games and it is for the secondary/wifes computer so I didn't really notice it much :D

But recently I've used it more and the lower left and upper right are always out when the center is corrected and it does become annoying after using it for text work.
