Is the KDS AV-195TF a good quality monitor? I have a Viewsonic A75f and I find the colors rather distorted and almost blurry, so I'm returning it to Best Buy for $300 store credit and getting this monitor for $400 plus a $50 rebate. Is this a good mid-range 19" that won't go out on me? Or should I spend the extra hundred and get a Sony 19" which actually has worse specs? What do you all think of this monitor?

I consider it a budget monitor. I deal with KDS all the time. The only thing they have going for them is a nice RMA policy.

KDS is nice, like John said they are great at warranties and stuff, but their quality isnt exactly up to par to be considered an elite brand. Consider Samsung if you're on a budget, they make great monitors for the money. Iiyamas are nice too but they're mad expensive.

Occasionally you will get a lemon if you order KDS, but if you hit the jackpot their monitors are really good.

The tube is nice, it's the same as the Sony G400. Although personally I prefer CTX or MAG with the same tube. but since you can get it at BestBuy, in the case of RMA, it shouldn't be too much trouble.

yeah the KDS monitors with the trinitron tubes are nice, I used to have the 17" version with trinitron tube, the AV-7T. I'd recommend a Samsung 900NF, it's a great monitor that you can get for less than $400.
