Just noticed this deal @ Office Depot and picked up one of the 19" models.

KDS XF-9B 19" Flatscreen (silver/grey)

KDS XF-7B 17" Flatscreen (silver/grey)

The 19" is here for $177.38, and the 17" is here for $118.38 shipped. Both monitors have free shipping included since they are over $50, and they are both elegible for a $30 MIR.

KDS XF-9P = $177.38 - $20 of $100 coupon - $30 MIR = $127.38.

KDS XF-7P = $118.38 - $20 off $100 coupon = $98.38.

My first Hot Deal post! :)

Edited the post for the expired 17" rebate.

got one for someone....they're OK...not great..not really flat..definitely not trinitron quality...(i have sony trinitron g400)....it's kinda funny..u can kinda see the curved tube....and there's a flat glass covering it.....but u get what u pay for..display quality is nothing to complain about...it kinda looks cheap, but i'd recommend it ..because the price is low, and quality's pretty good

On the KDS link provided, (thanks insane) the monitor I really want is the KDS 19"" with the grill monitor. Anyone know if KDS still makes any 17 or 19" monitor with the aperature grill?? Looks like they have been discontinued, bummer. Does anyone currently have the 19" KDS listed in this post? If so, do you like it? Insane, does this monitor do your Epox & graphics cards justice? (I guess so for the price, huh?) :D

Yeah, I think only the avitron's (I think mines a KD195 or something like that). But they have plenty in remaining stock somewhere, because I've had to RMA my 19" three times (long story).

For the love of God, the word KDS precludes this from being a "safe" deal. A Hot deal if you don't care, but KDS monitors are consistently some of the most unreliable monitors ever.

I have had several, and EVERY SINGLE ONE has failed. I have tried nice, I have tried tough. I've shipped one monitor back twice because their fix was worse than the problem- it came back with huge GASHES in the side.

Don't take my word for it, see it for yourself:

Their replacement recently failed again, after a couple months of operation. Only when I threaten to call the BBB do they actually do anything, and it's usually months later.

Lord have mercy on you if you buy one like my dumb butt did, because the manufacturer certainly won't.

I've had one of the avitron line for a few years now and never had a prob. The viewsensation (or whatever it is) of my parents died but was repaired under warrenty without a prob. They may be crap but you can't blame shipping damages, as in those pics, to the quality of the monitor.

I have had two KDS Monitors and they both went bad on me - no more. I also have one Samsung now that is dead but still in warranty. Just want everyone to understand the RMA process is not worth the trouble on most monitors because the trouble necessary to take the monitor in to a repair facility, or the cost of shipping. The Samsung CSR told me to buy another monitor because the cost to ship is more than the value of the repaired monitor. Either consider your cheapee monitor as disposable, or buy one that costs so much when it does go bad you can justify the effort on returning it.

I think a 19" monitor like this at $127.38 after rebate pretty much makes it disposable...
