can anyone tell me anything else about this monitor use K.I.S.S. method (keep it simple stupid) me not you seeing as how you are more than likely the expert and im not plus being in the army, expierience has taught me that this is the most effective way of making soldiers understand......so go ahead and break it on down to barney level....lol.

Thanks

I have a KDS AV7-TF monitor and I am quite pleased with it for the money. There probably are better monitors out there, but it has been quite good. The only complaint I have is the appearance of a slight bowed effect on the corners which I think is fairly common with the flat screens. The damper wires don't bother me at all (two thin almost imperceptible lines that appear faintly about 1/3 of the way from the top and bottom of the screen. All Trinitron tubes have them, including the much more expensive Sony monitors). I think $206 would be a very good price for one depending on what they charge you for shipping. I recall I got a good deal on mine for $219 with free shipping back in May. I haven't had any problems with mine, and I have heard good things about KDS warranty service, prompt replacement if problems for 3 years.

thanks , i decided i was going to get it and it should be here today or tomorrow. i ended up paying $229.00 w/shipping

i've got the 19" version of it. The 17" version has a max of 1280x1024@60hz which is kinda crappy, but most people wouldn't run 1280 on a 17" (then again i WOULD). Its got basically the same tube as the 17" VAIO flat display they sell at circuit city. Also one of the features i love about the KDS avitrons is you can hit autocalibrate and it will automatically fix your horizontal and vertical alignments and pincushions. thats pretty convenient.

is that autoclaibrate feature on the 17 in as well? right now im using a diamond stealth s54o extreme III (32mbs) i m thinking about putting in my old voodoo 3 3500 tv/agp card but its only has 16mb what do you think is the better route to go with? ill post this new thread too to see what kind of response i get. thanks for responding

i ve noticed that i have a really faint black line that runs from the bottom of my monitor to the top. i only see it with white or light colored backgrouds and it takes approx 5 to 7 seconds to go from bottom to top. the line is a horizontal line that travels in a vertical direction. it is about an 8th of an inch wide. does anybody know what this is? i can also see those other two line that were mentioned a few replys up from this one
thanks

i have it sitting right next to another monitor and i ve noticed that when i turn on/off that monitor this one flickers....i was wondring why that was happening ...thanks...no big deal . i can live with it i just started noticing it and wondered what was causing it

I've got this monitor. I paid $200 for it brand new and you are basically getting what you paid for it. Mine has a bowed effect at the top of the screen, and the right side of the screen has a geometry problem which is not correctable. It's not a major deal for me since I'll be upgrading to a more expensive monitor soon--probably a Samsung. The colors are nice and rich but the top of the screen is blurry, and doesn't look right. The funny thing about this monitor is that it's the third one I've tried, and the problems remain the same.

The refresh rate is probably not running at the optimal setting. You need to change this in the display properties for your video card.

I think it's a good monitor for it's price. I've heard many cases of their KDS monitors dieing right away or within a couple months. Luckily, KDS warranty is very good and you get a new one next-day air, they pay shipping. But when they aren't broken I hear they are very good and also myself I think they are good.

I personally like the Samsung 700NF a bit better, but it will cost you maybe $40 more than the KDS though it does have a $30 rebate if I remember correctly still.
