Private party KBB value is $5200. Dealer offered him $3500 trade in.

It took my wife years to beat it into me to price cars high. The worst that happens is nothing.

Yeah, dealers suck. I had a dealer offer me $9k (or $7k, I forget) for my CTS-V. I sold it a year later for $13k.

There's definitely a sweet spot for used cars. If its something 2-4 years old in good shape that they can sell you'll get more for it. If it's going straight to auction well.....
