Kazaa won't share my files

Here's my setup:
Win XP, 56K dialup(msn)

I've tried Kazaa and Kazaalite with no luck. I've done the "Find media To Share", and located the files that I want to share. I've tried different ports, along with a couple of other things. Still no luck. It says "Connected as WranglerX@KaZaA, sharing 12 files" in the lower right hand corner of my screen. But, when I get a friend of mine to look up one of the files, he can't find it.
I've looked at the kazaa boards, and they're not much help. FWIW, the file in question is an adobe PDF file. And I've tried changine the extension to several different ones.

Why not share it? 🙂

If I rename the file to an MPG or MP3 extension, will it still not recognize the file?

Yes you can. I always get PDF files off of Kazaa. There are so many E-books and computer help PDF files on there.


Anyway, Riffers70, you dont want to share, unless you have a buddy wanting a file or something. If you are behind a firewall of any sort your files will not show up anyway.
 
If both of your are behind firewalls/routers, you won't be able to see each other's files. You can uncheck the option to filter files that you can't download due to firewalls. That is in Kazaa somewhere...

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm trying to time it so that we are on at the same time, and then to hook up. I found that filter option, and have unfiltered them. Still no go. Don't understand. I'm on a dialup and no firewall here.

couldnt find it. if you so worried about giveing it to someone in-particular you should just email it to them.....or something.
 
why not send it as an email attachment to your freind.. .or through AIM, or upload it to a host and send him the link to DL from there
