Kazaa and Morpheus: Why do they look identical?

They are the same program.. Not sure why theres two 'different' versions.. Marketing? Shrug.


Under the pretty graphics, its the same code.

Kazaa and Morpheus are one and the same program. If you take a look in the registry after installing Morpheus, you'll see that the program is even called Kazaa and not Morpheus.

For those who are going to install, make sure you opt-out of the plugins (do custom install).

From reading some of the other threads in this forums, I have gotten the impression that Kazaa has spyware and Morpheus does not.

That is correct. Although I fear that eventually spyware will infest Morpheus as well.

umm...music city is morpheus...morpheus is ONLY music city servers.

that is why you cant get on music city anymore thru napigator.

its like Half life and cs, cs is the game, but it runs on top of HL.

same thing, morpheus is somewhat unique (music city servers only) on top of kazaa.

spyware, oh no, MC will know you have a hdd and pr0n...boohoo

I did the custom install of Kazaa and after hearing the thing about the yellow underlined words in the browser, I'm glad I did. The 'spyware' is an option to install so I don't consider it spyware at all.

well don't they both license microsoft's explorer technology?

I use kazaa and it has a microsoft wording on the lower left hand corner
