I realize that the FX-4130 and AM3 motherboard are very cheap, but the performance is very low compared to an Intel i3 processor. Not sure why you zeroed in on L3 cache, but it doesn't mean a lot when comparing different architectures.

The i3-4130 with the motherboard combo you originally found was a better deal, even if it was $30 more.

Okay that's what I wanted to know. If this CPU will limit the selected GPU, then I have no problem going with the i3 instead and it sounds like I will. I mean I don't care about the other tasks, just don't want this vid card limited is all.

I was just penny pinching because I don't know if I will even end up gaming on this PC is all.

The i3-4130 has other advantages over the FX-4130, like much better efficiency and much better performance in non-gaming applications. The R7 260X is not a high-end video card, and while it might not be limited in most games on an FX-4130, it likely will be in at least a few. The i3-4130 will outperform an FX-8350 in many games, if that makes it clearer to you. Here are some benchmarks to show you just how serious the difference is:
